Chapter 1 Surah Al – Fatihah (The Opening)
Surah AL – Fatihah is the first Chapter of the Holly book Quran, revealed by the Creator of the universe Allah (The God) to our beloved Prophet Mohammad PBUH by Angel Jibreel A.S. (Gabriel).
This is the 1st Chapter according to the official arrangement of the holly book Quran, but actually it is the 5th Chapter according to the revelation. This surah is also known as Al – Hamd.
This chapter contains total of 7 Aayats (Verses) and this is the only one chapter that is mandatory to recite it in every Namaz (Salah, Prayer) in each rakat. That’s why it is the most precious one in the entire Quran.
So, as we know Quran is revealed in Arabic language and people from all around the world recite this Surah at least 17 times a day in Farz Namaz. But not all of them knows Arabic language, so i am going to put some translation in different languages below. So, it will help to understand.
Surah AL – Fatihah in Arabic (Original Text)
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
(1) اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ
(2) الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِۙ
(3) مٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ الدِّيۡنِؕ
(4) اِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَاِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِيۡنُؕ
(5) اِهۡدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الۡمُسۡتَقِيۡمَۙ
(6) صِرَاطَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۙ
(7) غَيۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّيۡنَ
So above is the original text revealed in holly book Quran, to read this you will need to learn Arabic to read and understand it. The uniqueness and the real meaning of this chapter is only can be feel in the Arabic language, but unless you can read the translation below.
Surah AL – Fatihah in English (Translated)
I seek refuge with Allah (God),
from the accursed Shaytaan (Devil).
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds, (1)
the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, (2)
Master of the Day of Judgment. (3)
You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help. (4)
Guide us along the Straight Path, (5)
The Path of those You have blessed, (6)
not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray. (7)
